The DO810 acts as a digital interface between the control system and field equipment, converting logical control commands into 24 V d.c. outputs to drive external actuators and indicators.
The 16 channels are split into two groups of eight. Each group has a dedicated supervision input. If the external process voltage for a group is lost, the module triggers an error signal that is transmitted to the controller via the ModuleBus.
The module supports OSP (Output Set to Predetermined state). Upon detecting a communication error or a watchdog timeout, the outputs will transition to a predefined safe state, such as all off or holding their last known state, depending on the system configuration.
