The General Electric IC200GBI001 is a Genius Network Interface Unit (NIU) designed for the VersaMax Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. This module serves as a Genius slave device, enabling the integration of VersaMax I/O modules into a distributed I/O architecture. It facilitates communication between the Genius bus and the local I/O rack, supporting high-speed data exchange for industrial automation applications.

Installation Guidelines

  • Power Down: Always remove power from the system before inserting or removing the module to prevent electrical damage.
  • Mounting: Ensure the module is properly seated in the VersaMax carrier. Use the provided connector cover on the last carrier in the rack to protect pins from ESD and physical damage.
  • Wiring: The module features dual terminals for daisy-chain topology. Install a terminating resistor (75, 100, 120, or 150-ohm) at both ends of the communication cable across terminals Serial 1 and 2.
  • Shielding: To minimize electrical noise, insulate shield drain wires with tubing to prevent shorting between Shield In, Shield Out, or signal wires.
