Description

The Bently Nevada 3500/15 (Part Number 127610-01) is a half-height AC Power Supply Module designed specifically for the 3500 Machinery Protection System. This module installs into the dedicated power supply slots on the left side of the 3500 rack to convert AC input voltage into the regulated +24 Vdc power required by the rack's monitoring and protection modules.

Features

  • Half-height module design for efficient rack space utilization.
  • Supports redundant power configurations; the rack can house two power supplies (any combination of AC/DC) where one serves as the primary and the other as a backup.
  • Hot-swappable capability allows for module replacement without interrupting system operation, provided a redundant supply is active.
  • Front-panel "SUPPLY OK" LED for immediate visual status indication.
  • Compatible with the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System architecture.

Applications

  • Electric Power Industry: Steam turbine generators, gas turbines, and feedwater pumps in thermal, nuclear, and hydroelectric power plants.
  • Petroleum and Natural Gas: Large compressors, pump sets, and turbine drives in offshore drilling platforms, refineries, and gas pipelines.
  • Metallurgy and Mining: Heavy-duty rotating equipment, including large blowers, mills, and crushers.
  • Papermaking and Water Treatment: Transmission systems for paper machines and large-scale pumping stations.

Installation Guidelines

  • Slot Placement: Must be installed in the designated power supply slots on the far left side of the 3500 rack.
  • Redundancy: When two supplies are used, the lower slot typically functions as the primary supply, while the upper slot serves as the backup.
  • Compatibility Warning: This legacy 127610-01 module must be paired with its matching legacy Power Input Module (PIM), such as the 125840-01. It is incompatible with newer Universal AC Power Supply components (e.g., 106M1079-01). Mixing legacy and universal components in the same rack can result in hardware damage.
  • Handling: Always follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions when handling modules. Ensure the rack is powered down or that a redundant supply is active before attempting a hot-swap.

FAQs

What is the function of the 3500/15 127610-01?
