Product Description

The 1769-2WS (Part Number: 1769-2WS) is a high-precision, dual-channel weigh scale module specifically engineered for the CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 platforms. Developed by Hardy Process Solutions in partnership with Rockwell Automation, this module integrates advanced industrial weighing technology directly into the PLC chassis. It eliminates the need for external weight transmitters by providing high-speed, high-resolution weight data directly to the controller’s data table.

Supporting up to eight load cells across two independent channels, the 1769-2WS is capable of handling complex weighing tasks including Gross, Net, and Rate-of-Change monitoring. The module features Hardy’s proprietary C2® electronic calibration technology, allowing for system calibration without the use of physical test weights, significantly reducing downtime and safety risks in large-scale industrial environments.

Application Scenarios

The 1769-2WS is primarily deployed in:

  • Batching systems

  • Silo/bin level monitoring

  • Filling applications

It is particularly effective in chemical processing and food production lines where high-speed Rate-of-Change data is required for precise flow and inventory control.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of the C2® calibration feature?

  • Hardy’s C2® technology allows the 1769-2WS to read individual load cell characteristics electronically. This enables the system to be calibrated instantly without the logistical challenge of moving heavy physical test weights.

Can this module be used in a remote I/O rack?

  • Yes, as long as the remote rack is part of a compatible 1769 architecture (such as an Ethernet/IP or ControlNet adapter bank), the 1769-2WS will function as a standard I/O module.
