It serves as the primary signal conditioning interface, converting high-frequency eddy current signals generated at the probe tip into a calibrated voltage output. This output is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the monitored conductive target, enabling precise measurement of both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values in rotating machinery.
