Description

The Allen-Bradley 1756-PB75 is a high-performance, standard DC power supply module designed specifically for the ControlLogix platform. This module is engineered to provide reliable power to the chassis backplane, converting an 18-32V DC input into the necessary logic voltages (1.2V, 3.3V, 5.1V, and 24V DC) required by ControlLogix I/O and processor modules. With a maximum output power rating of 75W, it is capable of supporting fully populated chassis configurations in demanding industrial environments.

Features

  • 75W maximum output power at 60 degC.
  • Designed for dedicated mounting on the far-left slot of a 1756 chassis.
  • Wide input voltage range: 18-32V DC (24V DC nominal).
  • Integrated overcurrent and overvoltage protection for backplane safety.
  • 250V continuous galvanic isolation between the power source and backplane logic.
  • Compatible with standard 1756 Series B and C chassis (1756-A4, A7, A10, A13, A17).

Applications

  • Water and Wastewater Treatment: Powering controllers for dosing pumps and flow valves.
  • Food and Beverage Production: Supporting automation for pasteurization and bottling lines.
  • Chemical and Petrochemical: Providing stable power for high-precision PID control loops.
  • HVAC and Climate Control: Managing industrial cooling towers and damper systems.
  • Metals and Mining: Supporting hydraulic press control and position monitoring.

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure the power supply is installed in the dedicated leftmost slot of the 1756 chassis.
  • Always disconnect the main power source before inserting or removing the module from the chassis.
  • Ensure proper grounding of the chassis to minimize EMI and protect against electrical surges.
  • Maintain adequate clearance around the chassis to allow for proper airflow and cooling, as the unit is rated for operation up to 60 degC.
  • Use appropriately sized wiring for the 24V DC input to prevent voltage drop.
