The 1756-PH75 is a high-efficiency, high-voltage direct current (DC) chassis power supply module designed for the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756 platform. This side-mount module serves as the central electrical power source for the backplane, converting facility-level high-voltage DC into regulated multi-rail logic voltages required for processors, communication modules, and I/O.

Features

  • Designed for 125 VDC nominal input power systems.
  • Provides four regulated output rails: 24 VDC, 5.1 VDC, 3.3 VDC, and 1.2 VDC.
  • Supports 75 Watts of total backplane output power.
  • Features ride-through capability of up to 50 ms to prevent system resets during brief input power dips.
  • Reinforced insulation rated for 250 Volts continuous isolation.
  • Mounts directly to the left side of standard 1756 Series B chassis.
  • Passive cooling design; no internal fans required.

Applications

This power supply is engineered for intensive industrial environments where high-voltage DC bus distribution is standard, including electrical substations, mass transit rail infrastructure, marine power generation, and automated manufacturing facilities.

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure the ControlLogix chassis is powered down before installing or removing the power supply module.
  • The module must be installed on the left side of the 1756 chassis.
  • Use 2.5 mm2 (approx. 14 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire for input connections.
  • Tighten terminal block screws to 0.8 N·m (7 lb·in) to ensure secure contact and vibration resistance.
  • Maintain adequate clearance around the module to allow for convective airflow; do not obstruct the open-style chassis.
  • Ensure the installation environment meets the specified 5 to 95 percent non-condensing humidity requirements.

FAQ

Is this module compatible with all ControlLogix chassis?
The 1756-PH75 is designed for use with 1756 Series B backplanes, including the 1756-A4, A7, A10, A13, and A17 models.

Does this module require external cooling?
No, the module utilizes an open-style architecture that relies on ambient convective airflow for thermal management.
