Product Description

The AFV10D-S41401 (AFV10D) is a high-availability Field Control Unit (FCU) for the Yokogawa CENTUM VP. Serving as the logical core of the system, this duplexed unit features redundant processors to eliminate single points of failure. In case of a primary CPU malfunction, it performs a bumpless switchover to the secondary CPU, keeping all control loops active and stable without manual intervention.

Optimized for complex industrial environments, the AFV10D-S41401 manages high-speed coordination between field instruments and operator interfaces. It supports multiple industrial protocols including Foundation Fieldbus, HART, PROFIBUS, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP, enabling seamless integration of intelligent field devices. The module is ideal for oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation facilities, handling regulatory control, sequence logic, and advanced computational tasks.

  • Supports scaling via ESB or Optical ESB bus to connect multiple remote I/O nodes.

Technical FAQ

What is the advantage of the Duplexed configuration?
The duplexed design contains two independent processor modules running in parallel. If the active module fails, control switches to the standby module within a single scan cycle, preventing process glitches.

Can this unit be expanded with additional I/O nodes?
Yes. The AFV10D-S41401 acts as a bus master for ESB or Optical ESB expansions, supporting multiple remote I/O nodes (ANB or ANT series) to increase system capacity.
