Installation Guidelines

  • Handling: Use standard ESD precautions when handling the module to prevent damage to internal circuitry.
  • Simplex Configuration: Plug the PVIB pack directly into the DC-37 pin connector on the compatible terminal board.
  • TMR Configuration: Install three PVIB I/O packs into their corresponding connectors for redundant operation.
  • Mechanical Securing: Lock the packs into the mounting bracket using the threaded studs located adjacent to the Ethernet ports.
  • Alignment: Adjust the bracket position to ensure no lateral force is applied to the DC-37 connector; this alignment is typically performed once during initial installation.
  • Power: Always ensure the system is powered down before inserting or removing the I/O pack from the rack.

FAQ

Does it support network redundancy?

Yes. The module is equipped with dual, fully independent 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for network redundancy on the IONet. If one connection fails, communication is automatically maintained through the other.

What terminal boards are compatible?

It is specifically designed to interface with the GE TVBA vibration terminal board.

Are there channel-specific sensor restrictions?

Yes. Channels 1–3 support accelerometers, Proximitors, Velomitors, and seismic sensors. Channels 9–12 are reserved exclusively for Proximitor sensors. Channel 13 is dedicated to reading a Keyphasor or proximity-type pulse signal.
