Product Description

The Woodward 5464-013 is a high-precision RTD interface module designed for MicroNet and MicroNet Plus control platforms. It enables accurate thermal monitoring of critical turbine and engine components like bearing temperatures, winding temperatures, and lube oil systems. By converting low-level resistance signals from 100-ohm platinum RTDs into digital data, it ensures reliable thermal protection logic and minimal signal drift.

This module features eight independent channels, each with advanced filtering to reject EMI and line noise, ensuring accuracy in high-voltage environments. It also has built-in diagnostic capabilities to detect sensor faults, like open circuits or shorted wiring, for proactive protection.

Engineering FAQ

  • Does this module support 3-wire or 4-wire RTD configurations?
The 5464-013 supports 3-wire RTD configurations, ensuring accuracy over long distances by compensating for lead-wire resistance.

  • Can I mix different RTD types on a single module?
The module is configured for a specific RTD curve via Woodward GAP® software. Although individual channel ranges can be defined, the same RTD material (e.g., Pt100) should be used across all channels.

  • How does the module handle high-frequency vibration on the sensor lines?
The module includes analog and digital filtering to suppress high-frequency noise commonly found in industrial machinery environments.
