Product Description

The 8290-185 is a precision isochronous speed control unit developed by Woodward, Inc. for gasoline and natural gas engines. It maintains constant engine speed (zero droop) regardless of load variation, ensuring stable frequency output in power generation and mechanical drive applications.

Optimized for seamless integration with Woodward 524 and 1724 series actuators, the unit forms a closed-loop fuel control system for accurate throttle and fuel metering. Its ruggedized design supports operation in extreme environments from –40°C to +90°C and is suitable for direct engine or skid mounting.

The 24V DC wide input range ensures compatibility with standard industrial battery systems, while fast processing enables rapid response to overspeed or shutdown conditions.
